So two years might be enough of a break in between blog posts, eh? I'll do this one today then my lofty goal is to do another one within six months, wouldn't want to get all unrealistic on myself.
This fall semester will be my last official one here at the local community college. Finally. It's been a journey, that's for sure. I was fortunate enough to find an incredible preschool for Milo while I was in classes. This photo is from his last day there this past spring. He loved it there and absolutely thrived. It was one of those situations where Mama could breathe a sigh of relief after dropping him off instead of worrying. Whenever things got hectic in our lives and I was stressed to the max.... just knowing he had this calm, nurturing and loving learning environment to go to on a regular basis was huge. He has missed it this summer.
Amelia had an amazing last year in third grade. It was her first year at a new school but she adapted immediately and thrived like I've never seen her thrive in a classroom before. No small part of that was due to the incredible teacher she had. She is amazing. She gave Amelia opportunities to challenge herself and gain some independence and responsibility in her own education, and Amelia ate it up. This was the year Amelia turned into a playwright, actor, and director! She wrote a few plays during the school year and the teacher let her go around to different classrooms to recruit kids to perform them, and she directed and acted in them, too. It was awesome to see the natural leader in her come out. She also snagged the MC roll in the end of the year 3rd grade program, which was an absolute hoot to watch.
This spring I finally made it to a Wilson family reunion back in Iowa with the kids, and I'm so glad I did. We are so lucky to be a part of a family with such rich history, not to mention such loving supportive people all around on all sides.
I could sit and stare at this green all day long, I miss it. It just never gets quite like that out here in the wild, wild west!
