Feeling grateful and just plain happy.

I love life. It can only get better from here. The end.

Some Spring and Summer

Spring and summer. Milo is on this little tricycle every chance he can get. If his mother wasn't in such denial about her baby growing up he might have a two-wheeler by now. But he loves it and it fits in the trunk, so it goes with us to the parks, to Grandma and Grandpa's house, etc... he's on it rain or shine. When he's not outside, which is pretty much at least 85% of the time, he loves cooking with me, of course his cars and trucks, and he's turned out to be quite the bookworm. Summer is the season for contstruction, and of course that means tractors. We love watching the tractors work! "Work" is a big deal with Milo, he loves being a big grown up "worker". It's usually very serious and important. And always exciting.

Amelia's 6th birthday was May 8th, and she had her very first birthday party with friends! We decided on a tea party, and did it all in pink, red, and white. It turned out pretty cute. The guests had their pictures taken with the birthday girl right away, then decorated frames. They sat and had tea and treats, then had a framed picture to take home as a favor. It was a lot of fun, and the birthday girl was thrilled with it all, which is exactly what I was aiming for. :)

Amelia has been taking a tap/jazz combo class and loves it. Nothing tops ballet though, it's definitely her all-time favorite. She has her first recital coming up in August but her dance studio had a "Preview in the Park" where she got to perform her dances in a relaxed outdoor setting. I was nervous for her, but she was all smiles and so excited to get up there and do her thing in front of everybody! It was a lot of fun. I can't seem to get video to upload here, so you'll have to just take my word for it... it was definitely cute!

And in other growing older news, I turned 30! AWESOME. Seriously. I told my little (ok younger, now that I'm old and mature, I'll finally admit that she's taller than me) sister that I've felt 30 years old since I was about 12, and now it's finally here. Not sure what that means, but that's that. And it really was the best birthday I've ever had. We went up to my mom's family's home-The Mountain- as if it's the only mountain in the world. It might as well be. And ate picnic deliciousness at Grandpa's picnic grounds, played a little bit, opened presents.....

I got a bike for my birthday! How cool is that?! Ice cold. I couldn't have been more giddy with delight because, get this... I haven't owned a bike since junior high school. Yeah. I know. About time, right?! So there's that. And note that big blue contraption above that the kids are sitting in? Just a small little accessory to go with the bike. Mmhmmm.

My stellar siblings built this bike for me, and my parents got me the kid trailer to go with it! I was pretty scared to actually get on it, like I wasn't going to remember how to balance and pedal and breathe all at the same time.

Nothing to worry about, I should have known. :) It was just like.... well, you know.

PS. Yes, I started this blog post back in June and am just now getting it published. That's how I roll.

maybe?

Contemplating coming back to blogging. I miss it. But I feel like I should only do it if I can commit to doing it regularly. Hmm.
